What are the Forex Sessions?

Hello to all of you. Trying to figure out the time differences between different time zones, since I’m still relatively new to trading, I keep finding different times everywhere I check (all with GMT). As an illustration: Asia (Tokyo): GMT 00:00–9:00. I’ll locate another website, though, that states either 00:00–8:00 or 22:00–8:00. Thus, I’m not entirely sure what the real times of these meetings are. I would be grateful for any assistance, thank you !

Hi, The forex market operates 24 hours a day, five days a week, due to the overlapping of trading sessions in different parts of the world. These trading sessions are typically divided into four main timeframes based on the major financial centers: Sydney, Tokyo, London, and New York.

Depending on how the Asian Session is defined. New Zealand is where the FX day begins, although Tokyo is the first significant market.

The three principal market markers are Tokyo, London, and New York. Simply adjust to these markers according to your local time.

Additionally, you can download the FXHOURS app from DailyFx.com, which displays market hours based on your own time zone and geography.

The confusion you’re facing is totally understandable, especially as a new forex trader. The forex market is open almost 24/7, but it’s not one big, constant session.
There are 4 main sessions: Tokyo (Asia), London (Europe), New York (North America), and Sydney (Oceania). Overlap between London and New York is the busiest trading time. Slight time variations you see online are likely due to Daylight Saving Time or website differences. Your forex broker might have tools showing current and upcoming sessions in your local time.

Depends on how they define the asian session. The forex day starts with New Zealand but the first major market is Tokyo.

Tokyo, London, New York are the three major market markers. Just get used to these markers in your local time.
