What are the best and worst times for trading during the London and New York sessions?

Hey,

I’ve noticed that over 34% of my losing trades occur after 12:30 PM EST. I trade supply and demand, and while my strategy is profitable, Alhamdullilah, I’m always looking for ways to optimize it. I’d like to hear your suggestions on whether I should avoid trades after that time. Even the winning trades during that period tend to be low quality, so cutting them out might be a win-win.

I’m always open to suggestions. In this industry, experience is invaluable, and there are always traders more experienced than I am, no matter how much progress I’ve made. God bless.

It is my policy to cease trading at 12 p.m. I use the evenings to unwind, work out, do other things, etc. I want to put my money there if the early trades are of a higher caliber so that the account can compound daily.

@Ann Yeah I heard a lot stop trading right after london session closes, since liquidity starts dying right after.

First of all, congratulations on maintaining adequate records and keeping a journal, among other things, to be able to identify your wins and losers.

You have two choices if there is a noticeable PnL variation between sessions.

Follow your advice. Simply exchange the profitable trading session.

Alter the system somewhat for that losing session by analyzing the losers.

Try implementing DR IDR from Mas7er in your strategy. Can’t do anything but help. And yes, late trading is typically not worth my time.

Depending on the pair of currencies… Trade when there are TWO open markets. There will be the greatest volume and volatility in this overlap.
