What’s Your Biggest ‘Aha!’ Moment in Forex Trading?

For me, my biggest ‘Aha!’ moment was realizing that less is more. I used to chase every flashy signal, but once I learned to focus on one or two reliable strategies and actually stick to them, my win rate shot up.

I’m curious…what was YOUR lightbulb moment in Forex? Was it discovering the power of risk management, finally understanding support and resistance, or maybe something completely unexpected?

Let’s share and learn from each other.

PS: Bonus points for any funny or painful lessons along the way. :slight_smile:

My big “Aha!” moment was when I understood that the trend is my friend and I’m not predicting the price, I just follow it.

Don’t predict, just react.

What timeframe do you trade?

What timeframe do you trade?

I watch 1M, 1W, and 1D to make the analysis then the 4H and 1H to see where we are more in detail. After I have my daily bias, I’ll watch London and NY open on 15 min and enter on 3 min chart if the conditions of my strategy are met.

@Jordan
What timeframe do you usually follow the trend?

I usually do 4H, 1H for my bias then go down to 15m for more details and entry between 5m-1m.

I check the 1W or 1M for the start of the analysis and after that the same as you but I enter on the 5m-3m.

Aha. That’s true.

Still waiting for that one, so far I’m more like “oh oh.”

Lol… We’ve ridden the Forex rollercoaster too.

The biggest surprise is when you actually get stable profits.

It was “You don’t need those indicators!” Pure price action is key. :smirk:

There are lots in the journey, but my biggest Aha moment is being able to execute every A+ setup of my edge.
Actually, I trade 1m based on 15m trend. Previously, I paralyzed after seeing the setup formation and thinking about losses (and it happens very quickly). After selecting every checklist, I still feared to lose and I missed many setups that hit TP instead of SL. :man_facepalming:

Then I decided to execute every setup (with full criteria) and viola, I passed a funded account within 2 days (after 5 months of struggle on that particular account).

After that, I never lose any Propfirm account. :pray: I am really grateful and thankful to God. :pray:

@Stevie
Are you just playing the pullbacks within the 15m trend then is my guess??

No, only supply demand, price tap sup/demand, confirm on 1m… That’s it.

It happened way at the start… But at first, for some reason, I thought risking 1% meant buying 1% worth of the thing… Then I realized 1% risk was talking about your stoploss. :joy::joy:

My lightbulb moment came when I realized you only need to anticipate the next candle to be profitable.

Interesting. Care to explain further?? Quite like that thought process.

@Tyler
When you can do that consistently, the compounding effect will take place instead of trying to catch home runs.

May you share some of your tips to anticipate the next candle, please?
