I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s possible to really make money trading Forex. I’ve been at it for about six months and lost around $3,000. Before that, I was on a demo account and tried out different strategies, but the market just didn’t favor me. Does anyone actually profit from this? Should I just stick to stocks or CFDs instead?
I doubt anyone can become profitable in just six months.
It is possible, but it won’t be easy.
If the market always goes against you, then just go short when you feel like going long. Problem fixed.
Yes, it’s definitely possible.

It’s possible depending on how disciplined you are.
Forex is a lot tougher than stocks or futures. Starting with Forex puts you on the wrong path right from the beginning.
Focus on stocks or futures if you want to build real wealth.
It really depends on how fast you expect to grow your account.
Why do people keep betting on Forex? It’s not a fair game with big players. You might have better luck learning poker; you could earn more by playing that instead.

I think all traders respect poker and play it. The thing about poker is that you don’t go in expecting to get rich. You might want to make some money, but you enjoy the game. If people stopped jumping into trading just to get rich quickly, they’d probably learn and enjoy it more.

You might be mistaken.
Hmm. Just because you can’t trade doesn’t mean everyone else can’t either. If six months is where you quit, then maybe college is a better route for you.
@Alix
I’ve been trading for almost nine years, so spare me the teenage advice.
Where you’re wrong is in thinking every trader respects poker. That’s not true.

If you’ve been trading for nearly nine years, then you should probably say you’ve been trading for over six years in your title, not just six months. What do you expect people to think?
