Here’s a visual to share my perspective
Does it include a position size calculator? Can you see your risk in monetary terms before you make a trade? That would be really cool

Unfortunately, I don’t think it has that

No, but you can use limit, stop, or stop-limit orders to help find the right position size. After you find the right lot size, you can switch back to a market order. Check out picture number two.

Yes, if you connect your CTrader account to TradingView
What features exactly does MT5 lack?

For starters, it doesn’t have mobile trailing stops

That’s true, but I think serious traders mostly use PCs and the mobile app is just for checking trades on the go.
Other than that, it’s really just a matter of preference in my opinion
@Amias
That’s accurate, but I won’t have a PC for a while. I don’t want to stop my trading progress, so I use my PC for chart analysis and my mobile to make trades

I do the same, I make notes on my PC and execute on my phone. It’s a solid strategy

In that case, it sounds like a better choice. I haven’t tried it yet to be honest
@Amias
Give it a shot and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear what others have to say about it
MT4 and MT5 were built as strong charting platforms with lots of customization options. With MetaQuotes, you can create almost any feature - you just need to code it or hire someone to do it for you.
CTrader is not available to US clients. While this matters less in forex (where the UK and Asia are more important) compared to stocks (where the U.S. takes the lead), it still plays a significant role. Plus, CTrader was just launched in 2022. If you were a major institution with billions to handle, would you trust a new platform enough to switch your systems, which would take years (MQL to C# conversion) on its own?

What’s your opinion on trailing stops?
We don’t need more features, we just need a clean user interface
