Execution Below Market Price: 8 Pip Spread Then 5 More During Execution

I purchased this $5k account from Maven for $18.

:-1: I’m new to forex, but this execution doesn’t feel good.

#Is it correct to execute an order this far below the market price?

I just want to know if everything is okay or not.

I don’t quite understand. The spread in this video shows 0.9 pips, and your entry is only 1.4 pips away from the bid price…

Edit: Now that I’ve read this again, it’s clear you’re new to trading. Instead of spending money on challenges you’ll likely fail, invest in your education.

@Casey
Is everything okay?

I felt the execution was too distant from the bid.

(I’m new to forex, so I’m not very familiar with spread and pip terminology)

Stop trading, man. You have no idea what you’re doing :robot:

No, not everything is okay.

I’m telling you this to help you.

You need to STOP trading right now and LEARN how to trade.

Develop a strategic approach to the market, create a risk management structure, keep a journal, and prepare for a challenging journey.

Because you’re new, I know you won’t take my words seriously. But I guarantee this will happen next:

  1. You’ll lose this $5k account.

  2. You’ll be emotionally drained from all the losses and ups and downs.

  3. You’ll drive yourself to revenge trade, over-leverage, and lose a lot of money in the coming weeks/months/years.

Trading is a SERIOUS business! It’s not a joke! Take a step back and treat it like one.

@Casey
Whoever you are, I think you’ve been through the hardships yourself… I also think you’re in a better place now in trading. Please share some insights.

@Casey
Lol, you got all that from a legitimate question about incorrect price execution?

Maven has cheap prices, but it comes with large spreads.

And ridiculous slippage that just seems like they’re after your sign-up fee.

Seems like you’re the only one actually addressing OP’s question.

Is Maven any good, or is it a scam?

The firm is legit. It’s cheap, but the catch is the high spreads.

In other words, tread lightly, lol.

Forex is lame.

The spread doesn’t affect a sell execution. It only affects sell trades when they close.

It’s the gap between the bid and ask.

That’s for a sell, not a buy.

Leave that broker. Your sell entry should be at the price you executed it. Only buy entry will be affected by the spread during execution. What you’re experiencing isn’t slippage since there’s no wick to indicate the price reached that point.

You need BabyPips. As a newbie, it’s crucial to understand how spreads work. Also, AUDUSD isn’t a good pair for beginners. Spreads can be quite wide during the London/New York session, so you’d need to trade during the Asian session, which is better suited for advanced traders.

@Zev
Lol, this isn’t about the spreads. It’s just a shady broker practice. Your entry price for a sell should be at the market price, regardless of how high the spread is.
